Community Vets RCVS Accreditation …
We are very pleased to be able to let you know that we have again passed the highest level of Royal Veterinary College assessment possible for a practice of our size! As ever it was a lot of hard work to get all the necessary documentation and procedures in place, but very worthwhile to be recognised as providing a very high standard of veterinary care to our patients.
Our assessor reported:
This is a very nice independent practice which is well run and many things are done well. The clients are exceptionally well bonded to the practice; there is a good team development policy and plan; GA charts are completed well including a safety check list; pain scoring is done routinely; pre-op guidance notes are emailed to clients and these also allow them to consider in advance what they are consenting to; there has been a good audit of antibiotic usage and evidence of reduction in antibiotic usage; medicine stewardship is done well and includes meticulous CD recording, temperature monitoring, batch numbers of all medicines on clinical records; the practice is undertaking a faecal egg survey at its own expense to help decision making in antiparasitic dispensing; mental health is well addressed and junior staff are well supported; the premises is well presented and includes hospital grade flooring and the practice ambulance is clean and branded.
