Our Commitment
At Community Vets we are striving to reduce our impact on the environment. We acknowledge that our service has an effect on the environment in terms of use of raw materials, emissions to air and water, and waste generation.
We recognise that the health of animals, humans and the environment are inextricably linked. Environmental degradation affects the health and wellbeing of our employees, our pets, their owners and the public at large.
Implementation
We are committed to working with our staff, clients, suppliers to achieve the following objectives:
- Reduce waste, and reusing and recycling materials when possible.
- Implementing water and energy conservation techniques.
- Reducing unsustainable transport use.
- Working with suppliers to ensure they acknowledge and decrease the environmental impact of their products and transportation.
We have an ongoing review of opportunities to reduce our impact on the environment and list actions taken and to be taken to continually improve.
We have an appointed sustainability champion working who co-ordinates areas that can be improved and acts as the point of contact for suggestions presented by staff, clients, suppliers or members of the public.
